Keeping Up is a charming 67’ eight berth cruiser stern narrowboat built and fitted out by Stoke on Trent Boat Builders in 1991. She has been in the same hands since new has has been so well loved and looked after.
She has been well prepared for sale following a repaint in 2020, blacking in 2020 and last serviced in Autumn 2020. The last hull survey was in 2016. Fitted out in pine T& G, with carpets to the floors, she feels extremely homely.
The well deck has an easily erected cratch board and cover (not currently up). The stainless steel water tank is under. Steps lead down into the super cosy saloon.
This has a solid fuel stove, TV (with satellite), stereo, a couple of comfy armchairs and various storage options. An L shaped dinette is at the aft end and this converts into a spare double berth (storage under) and has a demountable dining table stored under the gunwale.
The galley is next and utilities comprise of a sink with drainer, a 230v LEC fridge (with icebox), a 4 burner gas hob and an oven/grill. A side hatch on the starboard side and houdini hatch over add light and air. There is plenty of storage in the various cupboards and drawers.
A corridor on the starboard side leads to the bathroom. This has a pumpout loo, a shower over half bath, a ceramic basin and storage cupboards. There is also a radiator to take off the winter chill!
The main bedroom has a fixed double (6’3”x4’) with storage under, with a large double wardrobe at the foot of the bed and a shelf over. There is another stereo in here.
Moving aft, there is a second small washroom housing another wash basin and a Porta Potti. It is a guest loo for midnight tinkles for the occupants of the rear cabin which has two opposing couches which converts cleverly into four bunk beds. Each of the couches has storage under and there are cupboards at the aft end.
Steps lead up onto the large cruiser stern deck (7’6”). This is a very social area. The Beta 43 (NEW in 2014) with hospital silencer sits under and the diesel and diesel tank were cleaned this year in May. The gas bottle are in lockers on the stern.
She is centrally heated by an Ellis gas boiler which heats 6 radiators, and hot water is heated by the engine or the gas boiler. 12v is from the bank of x4 domestic batteries (topped up by 100w of solar) and 230v comes from the landline or the 1.8kva Pure sine wave inverter.
Lighting is a mixture of LED, halogen & fluorescent. She also has a galvanic isolator. She also has a hand operated washing machine and spin dryer on board.
A lovely boat, ready for immediate occupation.
